Epidom vs. delivery-app commission
Every order through GoFood, GrabFood, ShopeeFood, Deliveroo, or Uber Eats costs you a commission. Epidom doesn't.
Delivery platforms are great for discovery — but every order that goes through one pays a commission off the top, and the customer relationship stays with the platform, not with you. A storefront you own doesn't charge you per order.
| Epidom | Delivery platforms | |
|---|---|---|
| Commission per order | $0 — free forever | A cut of every order, set by the platform |
| Who owns the customer relationship | You do — direct WhatsApp contact, repeat orders | The platform — customer data stays with them |
| Menu and pricing control | Full control, updates instantly | Subject to platform rules and placement |
| Payment methods | Card, bank transfer, cash — your choice | Platform-managed payout, on their schedule |
| Works alongside your existing listings | Yes — most merchants run both | — |
This isn't an argument to drop delivery apps — most merchants run both. It's the case for also owning a direct, commission-free channel instead of depending on delivery apps alone.
Questions
Commission vs. direct ordering
Should I stop using GoFood/GrabFood/ShopeeFood?
No — they're valuable for discovery. Epidom gives you a second, commission-free channel for customers who already know you: your Instagram bio, a table QR code, a WhatsApp broadcast.
How does Epidom make money if the storefront is free?
The storefront and online ordering are free forever. Epidom charges for the operational layer on top — POS cashier, kitchen display, inventory, and multi-outlet finance reporting — once a business is ready for it.
Do I need a developer to set this up?
No. You create a free storefront, add your menu, and share the link — most merchants are live in about 5 minutes.
